A research award in honour of Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı, one of IPA's pioneer leaders, has been renewed for 2016. US$20,000 will be made available to a paediatrician for a two-year project focussing on child health and/or child wellness. The research project will be funded 1 January 2017 and should be completed by 1 January 2019. The paediatrician who receives the award will be expected to present the research findings at the IPA2019 Congress in Panama City, Panama. Expenses will be paid to attend. 2015 WINNER:

After thoroughly comparing all of our grant applications, the Doğramacı Research Award selection panel is pleased to announce this year's winner. Dr. Prateek Bhatia, an Assistant Professor at the Pediatric Hematology Lab for the Advanced Pediatric Centre in Chandigarh, India, will receive the award. His research proposal is titled:

"Establishing phenotypic and genotypic screening model to identify children with iron refractory iron deficiency anemia (IRIDA)."

Dr. Bhatia is affiliated with the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), an IPA member society. The IPAF Executive Board congratulates Dr. Bhatia.
